This month, Happitots Nurseries in Glasgow have achieved something amazing. We have been named as some of the best nurseries in Scotland by DayNurseries.co.uk. That’s right, some of the best nurseries across the whole of Scotland! Five of our Happitots Nurseries have been ranked in the top twenty nurseries in Scotland. We are over the moon to receive this prestigious recognition.
DayNurseries.co.uk, a UK leading nursery review website, has judged nurseries across Scotland based on the reviews and feedback directly from families. Taking into account a range of factors – including the outdoor space, learning opportunities, resources, cleanliness, care from adults, food and nutrition, activities provided for the children and overall management of the nursery – DayNurseries.co.uk conducted thorough research before announcing the winners. Achieving an ‘excellent’ standard from almost all our reviews, Happitots Nurseries have been recognised for our superb provision, holistic care and dedicated staff.
For some of our wonderful nurseries, this is not the first time they have been identified as one of the highest ranking nurseries in Scotland. Happitots Bishopbriggs and Baillieston have been in the top twenty for two years in a row and South Lanarkshire has been in the top twenty for an astounding three years in a row! To maintain such high standards for so many years is an extra special achievement, but we would expect nothing less from our Happitots nurseries.
We have taken some of our favourite reviews, written by our families, which illustrate just how fabulous our Happitots Nurseries in Glasgow really are.
All three of my grandsons have attended this nursery. The staff are so dedicated, caring, professional and approachable. They develop relationships with the children and their families. That gives you peace of mind that you are leaving your little one in the best possible place. My grandchildren go in happy and don’t want to leave at the end of the day. The atmosphere in the nursery is warm, welcoming. A fantastic nursery.

Happitots Nursery is a fantastic nursery. My oldest son attended Happitots and loved it. He learned so much when he was there and all the girls were great with him. They also have swimming sessions available. My son enjoyed going and gave him more confidence in the water. They have a lot of space for playing in the back garden when the weather is good. There is a climbing frame with a slide, bikes, scooters etc. My youngest son also attends 2 days a week. He enjoys it and has come on leaps and bounds since starting. I highly recommend Happitots Nursery. They all do a fantastic job.

My daughter loves going to Happitots nursery. The staff are very friendly and caring towards her. The manager is lovely with a positive attitude. The rate at which my child is developing is amazing and it’s, in a large part, down to the dedication of the nursery staff who look after her, have fun with her and teach her new skills. I am so pleased I chose Happitots because any worries I had about my daughter going into a nursery have evaporated.

My son has been attending this nursery for three years, during which time, I have seen him grow and develop so much and this is due to the nurturing staff who are all welcoming and have established a great relationship with the children. The communication from the nursery is excellent and I’m always kept up to date on my son’s time at nursery as well as developmental milestones. I would recommend this nursery to anyone and will be sad when my son leaves to go to school.

A few shout-outs are well deserved, as none of this would be possible without our hard working staff in the nurseries. A big congratulations to Jodi, Emma, Paula and all the staff at Bishopbriggs; Wilma, Lisa and the team at Baillieston; Lorna, Leanne and every practitioner at Garrowhill; Tracy, Tracey, Ashleigh and the staff in South Lanarkshire; and Kathryn, Julie and everyone in Cumbernauld. We can’t thank you enough for the amazing work you do for our little ones, and are so proud you are being nationally recognised for it!
And of course a very big thank you to our families who take the time to write us such lovely reviews. We love hearing your feedback and knowing how well your child is getting on in our nurseries. It is great to know that our nurseries are loved by children and families alike.
In other good news, our partner nurseries Oranges and Lemons in Dundee were also ranked in the top twenty nurseries across Scotland. You must be so proud as well! Congratulations Oranges and Lemons!
We are pleased to share with you our exciting plans for the future of our nurseries. Bertram Nursery Group has provided a trusted, caring and quality service to thousands of families over two decades. That isn’t changing, but we want to grow and develop our services, facilities and, most of all, our teams who make our nurseries and kindergartens such inspiring places for children.
That’s why we’re changing our name to Thrive Childcare and Education, because that’s at the heart of what we’re about – helping our children, staff and communities to thrive.
While changing our company name and the names of some of our nurseries is the next step of our development journey, we’ll still have the same dedicated teams caring for your children.
The Covid-19 pandemic has reinforced our belief that we need to adapt and invest in a constantly changing world to continue providing the service that parents and children need, tailored to the communities we support across Scotland and North West England.
Since our foundation, we have acquired some fantastic groups of nurseries and many high-quality independent nurseries. Now we are uniting them under four Thrive groupings:
