CORONAVIRUS/COVID-19 GUIDANCE – BERTRAM NURSERY GROUP
As a childcare provider, we take health and safety in our nurseries extremely seriously. Considering the current outbreak of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) we have put together some information, all of which is based on Public Health England Guidance for Educational Settings and World Health Organisation advice.
What is Coronavirus? A coronavirus is a ‘type’ of the virus. As a group, coronaviruses are common across the world with typical symptoms of coronavirus including fever and a cough that may progress to a severe pneumonia, causing shortness of breath and breathing difficulties. Generally, coronavirus can cause more severe symptoms in people with weakened immune systems, older people, and those with long-term conditions like diabetes, cancer and chronic lung disease. Novel coronavirus (COVID-19) is a new strain of coronavirus first identified in Wuhan City, China.
Bertram Nursery Group have prepared and issued formal guidance documents for nurseries and regional management teams to follow. Those documents have been prepared to help our teams understand current advice and precautionary measures around personal and environmental hygiene and, importantly, what to do in the event of a ‘low’ or ‘high’ level incident relating to a person displaying symptoms or where there is a confirmed case.
We continue to keep a close eye on advice from the Department of Health and Social Care, along with Public Health England, on the Government website, we would encourage you to please do the same.
Further information can be found on the World Health Organisation website:
We are aware the situation is changing daily, and we will update you if further steps are required to minimise any risk to our nursery community.
